Mish, am I recalling correctly that BMW wheels have the same bolt pattern, but the fronts have to be machined in order to fit our massive axle stubs (sorry if that's not the correct term)?

I think 17"s are the sweet spot on the XJS, possibly a bit beefier out back if possible. Again, superb job on your machine.

Did you tackle the interior as well?

Nope, these fit just fine, all I had to do is remove center caps and paint stubs silver to match the rim (as you can see).
17" is indeed the perfect size, because 16 is a bit too offroadish, while 18" a bit too ghetto for my old taste.

18" tooo ghetto ?

these have 18" wheels from an XK , and 25mm hub-centric spacers to allow for the track and missing the hub , but still need to paint em i think

Your car is white and white cars look bigger, secondly you have much newer model year, so retro look is not your thing. I have to stick to the whole "classic wanna be" appeal, mate.

Default XK8 wheels

I used XK8 wheels, no mods and they fit perfectly. Used a 4 mm spacer up front for the center hub.

Beautiful car, it looks amazing in white.

Mish, southern sun and cheap paint job from previous owner not a good combination. But she has 130, 000 miles so she is due for a paint job. I am almost done with the louvers, then I can paint.

4 hours of hood and fender alignment and she is all evenly gapped.
I understand that my XJS was flicked on the beak, sometime last century, but regardless this should not be that hard.
Lots of stainless steel washers here and there, to get all gaps even and hood locking smoothly.

Default Stupendous car!

Mish,

She is a thing of beauty! your attention to detail has payed up, the gaps look precise. This is an inspiration to complete mine, (as if there is such a thing).

Congrats

How are you enjoying the manual transmission? Did you get all the kinks worked out?

Fabulous looking XJS!
