Sorry Marty. I guess I wasn't clear about the carpet color. The donor carpet is light grey, so it won't match your tan interior, just like it doesn't match JagZilla's tan interior.

Lots of cheap power antennas that will work for the XJS can be found on ebay. However, the OEM items are outrageously priced.

Oh. Bummer. Thought it was my lucky day there for a bit.

Yea I have looked at some of the prices some places charge for new parts. Sheesh! You'd think they were gold-plated Platinum. If they are THAT proud of 'em I'll let 'em keep 'em. I can make pretty much anything work, juts depends on how much time and energy I want to put into it.

I plan on using the same radio I recently installed in my Volvo so that is already settled. I will be going with an after-market power antenna and may even swap it into the Jaguar housing, we'll see.

Not sure what I will wind up doing for the carpet and head liner. I may just go with a fitted set of floor mats and put then directly on the standard carpet padding. The headliner I have no clue yet. This journey is really just starting so I guess I should not be too impatient (yet).

Marty....................

I actually ordered a cheap stick on kit in carbon fiber from Ebay just to see what it would look like in my XJS. I'm in the process of having the car painted paino black and wanted to really update the interior. It wasnt't bad but if I had a black interior, it would have been smashing. Unless the interior is black, most other surfaces other that wood just looks forced.
Of course, the early 76 models only came with aluminum and black panels.
I did decide against newer finishes and have almost completed a complete wood replacement. Mine came with the lighter elm but I have changed to the dark walnut. I've had the stereo panel and the instrument cluster panels veneered as well. THe BEST!!!!! thing i ever did was replace the old ski slope with the new cup holder replacement., They are a bit small but MUCH better than nothing!!
My last upgrade will be the replacement wood steering wheel from jaguarxjsinteriors.com, who i purchased the instrument cluster panel from.

By the way, I have a perfect ski slope in the lighter elm available as well as three of the four upper dash panels (minus the left side vent surround, it broke) if any is interested in buying.

I have to say that for the first time ever that I have seen, in your lovely dash, Edgardo, someone who has modified an XJS - in any way at all, body or interior - that has made it look better! Congratulations. Those instruments look wonderful, please post more pics and details of what instruments you have and what you did, and how you did it.

What did you do about the interior light switches and heated rear window and hazard switches, please?
