With some of the things that are a pain to replace on the XJS, 5 years can fly by. Some I would have no issue with. For example I put new struts on the hood when I got the car, wouldn't complain if they died on me now. New brake pads would feel sudden to me, even though it has been a long time (but nowhere near enough miles).
The only issue I had with the thinner URO hoses was with the driver side balance pipe, which collapsed under vacuum.

Have fun with the heat hoses, razor blades are your friend when removing old hoses
The one thing on which I won't gamble are Radiator Hoses, or anything to do with Cooling the Engine.

Its fine by me if someone wants to 'Bling' their Engine up with Colored Hoses but as for me, I'm sticking with the Tried and Tested, that lots of Forum Members all seem to recommend.

Eventually, sidescrollin's opinion says it all.
Whichever you choose it must be a good one, or it will fail. It's not about the material, it's all about the quality.

About the clamps, I don't think you need Mikalor. I know it is really good, but the genuine ones are of enough quality.

Quality=+1 on that.

But having had to struggle to remove what I would call Normal Stainless Steel Hose Clips, (Than do/undo with a Screwdriver) I'm going for 'Mikalor'

As unlike Normal Hose Clips, you can get a Socket Spanner on these.

OB,

As you may know, all the original hoses are still available from Jaguar.
