That A/C compressor is a joke. Buy a modern replacement (Sanyo would be my go to) and you lose size ( improve engine airflow) and weight. The same with the alternator.
Modern alternators putting out the same amperage can be less than 1/2 the size ( and weight ). Further opening up the engine compartment. The EGR compressor was later deleted. The power steering is your basic GM type unit Nothing complex about it except it’s bulk there are aftermarket racing pumps that provide the same over boosted* power steering but put the reservoir out of the way further letting airflow past the engine and out. With all that additional airflow you can eliminate the air conditioning for the fuel lines. Now! Look at that beautiful engine that was previously hidden away under all the accessories and lines. Plus changing spark plugs is now a 15 minute job.
* there are adjustable regulators sold by Rob Beere racing To reduce or eliminate the overboost feeling.
Less weight, cleaner/neater engine compartment that is not as intimidating. And shows off that beautiful engine. Plus the engine will really cool off.
Worried about originality? Put it all in a box ( better be a big sturdy box) with a note to that effect.
