4k is another Jag, a 'project' Jag.

If I had the garage space and the cash to burn Id shoehorn my 6.0L ford diesel (600hp) engine into another XJS. It'll...mostly fit without room for anything else haha.

An XKR engine with nice modern bits and diagnostics would be a profitable long term adventure, really anything is possible with time and money.

A good idea would be to use the front suspension from an xk8, or xj8. Someone here in the UK has done that.
Stand alone ECU, manual gearbox. Easy !
