No I wasn't being sarcastic, I have seen the car here before and he has covered all the bases it would appear, bumper to bumper, untold hours and dollars I bet.
I can't compete with that, as far as the electrical and mechanical mods.

My plan is a Jag version of a lead sled, Metal work is my thing.

Do you think the attached photo (found it in my shopping pursits) had added the spoiler? Its just that it is the first spolier i have noticed so far in my travels.

You guys have any spoliers on yours?
Hi Paul

There was a Jag Spoiler already fitted to my 'Mica' V12 XJS, where the Aerial went through the hole, as is being described.

It looked Ok and I know that a lot of Guys like them, as I probably did at the time but cleaning round it was always a bit of pain, as after washing just when you thought that you had got the Boot/Trunk Lid dry.

There would always be some water dripping from somewhere, off the Spoiler onto the Boot/Trunk Lid.

Its Apples and Oranges really but as I don't like Spoilers, for what its worth I wouldn't want to put one on my Car.

Neither would I ever fit those either, its not my bag I'd much prefer to have a standard Jag without them on.

I did have a question for those of you that have the last factory spoiler made in the mid 90's. Does the spoiler overlap the rear antenna? I had seen on the earlier version or at least on certain spoilers used the spoiler had to have a hole in it so the antenna could come up through the spoiler. I do not see the hole on the last spoiler that Jaguar made so I am assuming it does not sit over the antenna hole-is that correct? Seems like I had heard that even on the last spoiler from the factory the antenna had to be down to allow the trunk to open.
Although it doesn't justify the $12K, the factory new unit does come with an electronic controller. This device looks at each possible status affecting the radio antenna, (up, down, motion, etc.) the trunk lid, including the current lock status and along with current status of trunk lock signal from the radio antenna signal status. Finally, the module determines what's wrong and prevents the operator from insisting to ... say.. trying to close the trunk lid with the radio ON.

The one I purchased and installed did not come with the module (what did I know then...) and it works fine without it, just have to make sure that people getting involved are fully aware of this, such as the mechanic, valet parking, etc. I have, since, partially figured out the circuitry, but I've been lazy, since nowadays nobody else really touches the car.

Cheers
