as said by warspite;; its an old idea , i had a 1964 Dodge 426 car and it had dashboard pushbutton shift control, all well and good until i drag racin another car , and at 6000+ rpm i pushed neutral,, engine just blew up ,thats all she wrote, NOPE i did not like that arragingment! buttons to close to each other!
also GM some front wheel drive race cars, that had actual toggle switches, for shifting trans! that did work good for racing!
