Teves ABS Brake Accumulator
I have been having trouble with the red brake warning light staying on after start for 5-10 miles before going off. After 10 15 minutes it comes back on, as if Accumulator is not holding charge. I'm assuming that the JLM 1907 Accumulator is going bad.
JagLovers.Org listed a 2006 entry for parts interchange for the JLM 1907 as GM 25528382. That part was suggested as being only about 1/3 the cost of the JLM 1907.
The GM 25528382 has been discontinued and the JLM 1907 is getting hard to find. I was able to find one for $273, $315 with shipping.
Has anyone found a shop that can cut open the accumulator and replace the diaphragm and recharge the sphere after rewelding?

I know that it's a bit of a hit but your life is worth more than $315
or you might be able to get one from a Breakers.
Hopefully 'Grant' may chime in.

Hi Mike
Have you done any tests on your braking system yet or are you just going by the lights on your dash?
Only reason I ask is I had a not dissimilar experience, replaced the sphere with a brand new one from Jaguar but it did not solve my issues.
In my case it turned out to be an electrical issue.
I'm not sure if it will be the same for a 1990 xjs as my 94 but you can test the braking system by shorting various connectors on the braking ecu connector (Section in the Jaguar service manual about it). Also if the sphere has failed every time you hit the brakes the pump would have to operate in order to maintain power assisted braking (which can be heard as a clicking inside the cabin). I would also expect you to get a warning light every time you used the brakes.
Keep us posted! and I hope its nothing too major.

New accumulator came in. After swapping, the problem went away. Replacement was an alternate for the JLM 1907 and is slightly larger in diameter and slightly longer. It may be the GM 25528383. It does not have the Allen Wrench fitting on top or the decals.
Cost was $324 shipping included. I had a hard time locating one. The accumulator seems to last about 50,000 before it starts to loose ability to hold charge, at least that has been my experience.
I would still like to find someone that rebuilds the accumulators.

I did go to a salvage yard. No XLS in the yard. Several 1990 Buick Century Limited and a couple of Cadillac Devilles 90-92, both of which were supposed to use the GM 25528382. I could find the ABS pumps, but could not locate the accumulator on any of the six cars that I looked at.
The accumulator supposedly has a diaphragm inside with an inert gas charge.
