Default Thank you

I am writing to say thank you to the members of this forum who assisted me with guidance and support with my car. Some of you may remember a number of posts from me related to a 1994 XJS 6.0 that I had purchased in the UAE and that a lot of preventative maintenance work was done to including cooling system, ignition system, suspension bushings, brakes, performance SS exhaust, fuel pressure regulator, etc. etc. plus some minor cosmetic paintwork.

I ended up leaving UAE and am now based in KSA. The car was left behind with work continuing in my absence. The car was shipped to UK and I was reunited with it in the past week. I have driven it a few times with my wife and daughter before yesterday I took it for a thrash on my own. Without trying to incriminate myself I was really impressed with the performance from 50mph upwards. Effortless and bags of torque.

Since being back in the UK a new soft top has been fitted. There is still a interior refurb to undertake. Attached are two before and two after pics.

Thanks for all the help provided.

Pierre

Car looks great Pierre! Glad you were able to get it running well!

As a matter of interest, where did you purchase the soft top? Did you fit it yourself and did you install new cables at the time?

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul

i had the soft top, insulation and headliner done by Aldridge Trimming. I would have made a mess of it so wanted it done professionally with supply and fit from the same supplier. I am very happy with the work.

Maybe think about an application of Waxoyl now that it's in soggy ol' Britain. Congratulations, it looks great.

I had a new top and headliner fitted last year just before lockdown. It was fitted by an experienced guy and took him from 9am to 6 pm. He new what he was doing but it still took him a full day. I don’t think I could have done it especially after watching him and I was very happy with the price and finished job.
