Are these XJS or XJ6 mirrors?
So on my 90 the door mirrors do not sit perfectly horizontal, I've been told an XJ6 mirror will fit but not sit quite right.
The driver tilt is more pronounced than the passenger, especially from the driver seat, though neither of them are very
extreme in photos. I've also seen seemingly conflicting info on what style mount base gasket an XJS should have,
thicker or thinner. Photos in the link below, thoughts? FWIW the mirrors state of patina seems to match the car and
they seem to match each other; there's no evidence or history of accidents and we've had it since 2008 or so.

wolf_walker,
There is not a part number stamped into the base. See my pics here of my mirrors when dismantled:

The posts of your mirrors do seem to sit in a slightly different vertical plane compared to my facelift convertible. Amd remember the two sides will never look identical when photo'd from the same distance as your passenger mirror sits further back on the door.

Hmm. Looking at the photos,,, there is a plastic spacer under the mirror.
Might be a stupid question but are you sure you have them the right way round, or the correct spacer on the right side of the car, if you know what I mean? From memory, the spacers, yes, will only fit one way between the outer door skin and mirror base BUT they can be mistakenly placed on the wrong sides...if that makes any sense

These have been on there since at least 2008 when my father first bought the car.

The other type, either earlier cars or convertibles maybe, has the outer side of the base gasket much thicker looking
than the inner. I don't know if that's cosmetic or the gasket can actually alter the mount angle of the mirror.
