two things i would change about my XJS but dont have the time or money.
1 is to relocate the fuel tank
2 is to cut and reshape the sheet metal behind the IRS to allow better airflow across the brakes and diff.

and one thing i wish i could change would be a group 44 style flared fenders and rear spoiler

just ordered my factory chrome and primer hood louvers for the XKR. Jaguar sent me a 10% coupon on accessories so I figured now was the time. Also going to put the R badge on the front grill and eventually upgrade the exhaust (after the factory warranty runs out.)

I like to turn my XJS into two by getting another, same spec but non-metallic dark green on tan like AllanG's. Speaking of whom, anyone heard from AllanG?

what are you talking about m90, where could you possibly relocate the fuel tank?

I will admit its a bit high centered but its spread evenly over the rear wheels, whats wrong with that?

I'm not sure about M90, but, I would fill the lower area of the trunk(boot) with a fuel cell. This improves front-to-rear weight distribution, and lowers the center of gravity.

I believe Calvin has already done this. Have a look here:

I would like smaller bumpers front and back. I dont like the returns on sides of car. I removed bumper extensions off my 89 and love the look. Hate the big seam. But that can be removed.

I wish the rear quarter windows on the coupe popped out like on an MGB GT. While we're at it, give me roll up windows w/ butterfly vents too.

I think the B pillar should be gone and the rear side screens retractable... So you have a "hardtop" bodystyle

The unnecessary and possibly dangerous ABS is my second item I would want gone on my car. The ridiculous Delanair 111 heater/AC system is the first. Having a computer module powered by 12V controlling vacuum servos which move air delivery doors is quite silly when simple levers and Bowden cables work just as well and will work indefinitely, not just until 10 years or so years go by.

Hi Rag Jag

I'm with you all the way in wanting to bin the ABS, its just so unpredictable and dangerous.

When one day it decided to just brake one side of the Car, it very nearly threw me into the path of another vehicle, so I had to take my foot off the brakes in order to steer out of trouble.

On my grey XJS the Car was diving to the left and right for no apparent reason whatsoever, then suddenly cured itself for the rest of the journey.

Its got to the stage I start braking well before I need to, just to make sure they are there.

Its so unnerving, I'm planning to Retro Fit the Brake Booster System from one of my older cars.

I'd also be interested to know what problems you or anyone else may have had.

thanks Jagzilla for answering the question for me. i would rather the fuel cell be more rearward than upward.

my opinion is a little different, all that weight of a big fuel tank BEHIND the rear wheels(not over wheels, would swing that *** end around like top, polar moment of inertia.

car would be uncontrollable.

after i finished my build around late 1995, i stood back and didnt like the look of the long after deck(trunk), one foot shorter would(to me ) look so much more modern approach.

pic of side view shows what i mean, but i just finished it,so didnt have the nerve to do it. maybe someday!
