Tire load rating

Tire load rating
As time goes on, it seems every tire supplier is getting more about idiot proofing their system. It is really hard to buy tires with even a slight change in size because they are flagged as "not fitting."
I have had Falken Ziex912 225/60r15 tires on my XJS for 5 years now. I have a toe issue that has toasted the front tires.
The exact same tires are now sold under a Falken company called Ohtsu. I tried to buy some from tire direct and they got flagged. I talked to a rep expecting him to mention they were the "wrong size," but he actually told me the load rating is off, so he can't sell them.
The ziex tires are 96 and he said the XJS needs a 97. Does anyone know if that is correct or the 100lb increase in rating really matters?
I'm considering just finding a different car to buy them under so I can buy them anyway.

I used to use a local tire place where I used to live, but there aren't any here.
I ended up cheating and saying I had a 1995 540i, so I think I fixed it.
