Default Tires for XJS

I have a 1992 XJS Coupe with a factory 5 speed and sport suspension.
The odometer just turned 38,000 Kilometers (23,000 miles), but is still has the original tires on it that are almost 30 years old.
Numerous tire sites state that they do not have any tires for the car. The size is 235/60/15. Apparently Z rated tires are no longer produced.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and what tires did they find?
I want the appropriate performance rated tires even though the car will rarely be driven.

Few choices these days for 15" tires

The Pirelli P600 235/60x15 appears to still be available. Last I heard ( a few years ago) Pirelli makes them in limited batches so availability might be sketchy

Also try looking at 225/60x15....you might still find some decent choices.

I use Continental's ContiPremiumContact for my 1992 coupé with 15" wheels. Just about the only premium tyres that will fit.

I used the Cooper Cobra gts on my 93 convertible. I like them, but it would be nice to have a higher speed rating 😁

Thanks for the suggestion. The local Jaguar dealership is suggesting the BF Goodrich Radial T/A. I am not sure if they will be able to get these as again, most tire vendors say they don't have anything available.

The P600 was my first choice, but as you say, they are in limited supply, if they are available at all. The situation may be different in the US.

Apparently they didn't like the "above 149mph" rating of the "Z". They added "W" 168mph and "Y" rated at 186mph. Also (Y) which is 186+.

The BF Goodrich radial TA comes in a variety of flavors. I've sampled several and they've all been good.

AFAIK, BFG offers the 235/60x15 size only the in their base level "TA Radial" series. These are a good tire in terms of quality; nothing bad about them, but they are not really a performance tire and carry low speed ratings.

I bought Cooper Ultra Touring tires 225/60 15 inch. H rated, 130 mph. They fit well, look great, and ride smoothly. Our state highway patrol used H rated tires `on their Crown Vic patrol cars. I won't be driving faster than them. It's hard to find a decent 15 in. tire now unless you buy Pirelli, and they are pricey. I think if if you change to the 16 in. wheels on the facelift models you'll have a better selection.

I fitted a set of 225/60 R15 96W Falken ZE310 to my convertible this year. Excellent tyre as recommended by KWE Jaguar specialists

Thanks for your input. At this point, the Radial TA seems to be the only option available.
I won't be driving the car at high speeds anyway. The car is, for the most part, a garage queen which will rarely be driven.
The reason I wanted to go for speed rated tires is that a future owner may want to engage in the historic racing scene. The six cylinder manual transmission cars came with a sport suspension, and are apparently very competitive. Although I have never participated myself, I really enjoy watching vintage sports cars compete at some local events.

I searched and searched and searched and finally scored a 16" version of Lattice wheels. Tire options are endless if you go that route.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I won't have time to source the 16" wheels.
The car has to pass a provincial safety inspection before I can even put it in my name. I purchased the car from an elderly lady in another province, so until it passes the inspection, I can't transfer it or get any insurance.
It is still sitting in the Jaguar dealership where I am also getting some of the hoses, belts, and rubber mounts replaced.
