When I redid my interior I installed a dead pedal too. I used a chunk of rubber from 3” thick playground tile that was left over from a swingset I built for my kiddos.

Still need to install the rubber pad

I just recarpeted my 1990 Convertible and reupholstered the seats... Been truely driving it for a week,,, and yes. I'm too tall. I've been working on this car a loooong time and honestly, lol, I've been trying to avoid admitting, acknowledging or accepting this truth now that I have it out on the roads... When wearing the wrong shoes I have to pay attention that my foot does push both the gas and the break at the same time. I am 6.4 (skinny like 200lbs) and my lady is 6.0... Her big mouth,,, she blurted it out AND made fun of me the first time she sat down - no filter, lol. Booger... She also felt a little tight in there, she said.

My 2002 xk8, roomy-er,,, but yes, often I have to lean way to the side to see lights - that's about the only...

Ahhhh,,, the price we pay for sexy car, lol

Oh shiiiit!!! You mean,,,, I can do that? Lol,,, I'll be doing this.

It's weird... Simple things like this just don't naturally occur to me. It makes total sense!

Make a tunnel of carton, on all sides including the dash/knee trim, then all the sparks just hit the carton, I am not saying it is not spectacular though! Draw a white line down the pedal where you want the cut, rig up a powerful torch (flashlight), and do it a bit at a time to ensure the carton is OK etc .

Years ago I saw this thing on sale, $10. Purchased it because it was so cheap and discovered it actually is very useful. You won't get any sparks, though ...
