The coupe vs. convertible climate control circuits ARE different but I can't find any such switch in the diagrams
What exactly does the manual say? Does it specifically mention a switch? Is your a/c inop at all times or only with the top down?
In '89 a change was made on convertibles to keep the a/c compressor engaged even with the climate control knob set to "off". This was to ensure that the fuel cooler recieved refrigeration.
The circuit was again modified in 1990 to include an electrical fuel temp switch in the circuit. I'm guessing this allows the compressor circuit to de-power with the controls set to "off" *unless* the fuel temp reaches a high enough level to close the switch.
Others will chime in with better info
Cheers
