Default Transmission Cooler Pipe Seals to ZF4HP24

I'm just finishing the gearbox oil and filter change on my '95 4 litre with the ZF4HP24 In order to get as much of the old fluid changed, I ran 3 drain and refills before then dropping the sump, changing the filter and replacing.

I'm now thinking about filling the box, disconnecting the transmission cooler return pipe, starting the engine and letting the pump "push" the new fluid through the system to chase out all the old fluid whilst I get someone to fill via the dipstick. A couple of quick questions:

- I can't source the seal for the cooler pipe to the box - EBC4895 - here in the UK. It seems to be a metal/rubber bonded seal. Does anyone know the precise dimensions so that I can try and find a similar bonded seal before I disconnect the pipe.

- Also does anyone know definitively if fluid will continue to pour out of that pipe when I turn off the engine or will it slow to a trickle then stop? I'd really like to try this "push" approach but not if I've got to try and connect the pipe with fluid pouring out!

Tks

Paul

That sounds like a Dowty washer Paul. If you measure it's external (metal) and internal (rubber) diameter, an engineering supplier will have something to fit.
