Morning all.
I have to replace one of my transmission oil cooler hoses. It’s the lower hose which has gone. I’m having another made up at a local Agricultural merchant. My neighbour works there so he is sorting it for me. Just wondering what sort of pressure goes through these hoses I don’t suppose it’s to high as the cooler is part of the radiator.
Hi guys. Well bugger my neighbour’s work could repair my hose as they couldn’t get hold of the correct ends to make a new hose up. Any ideas as to what to do now.
Rob.
You might not need new ends. I can't quite remember how the hoses are configured but in some cases the rubber sections can be removed from the ends and new rubber hose crimped on.
Hi guys. Thanks for coming back to me. Yep a new plan. As you can see I have removed the old hose and am left with a couple of hose tails.
New plan is as you have said a new piece of hose and hose clamps. As the pressure is very low what sort of hose would you guys recommend.
Rob.
Get hose specifically designed for automatic transmission fluid. In the US, we can get it at any auto parts store. I'd imagine it's the same in the UK.tI like Gates hose, FWIW.
Earlier cars, but still HEs, have push-on hoses and clamps. The OEM hose used is very very strong indeed and still available. If nothing suitable, buy some of that, or get the hose from your buddies place that they would have used.
