Trim codes

Yeah I got the magnolia for the leather, but I thought the the two letter code was for the other bits of trim? Basically my choices of colours to buy for the clips are coffee and barley
Paint and Trim Codes shows a two letter code for barley but not coffee. It could be something else entirely that I can't find clips for though!

Hmmmm, it seems that the problem for the 2 digit trim parts codes on the chart is that they are for the XJ6/12. I've looked around and cannot find a trim parts code to go with the Magnolia interior. (This is for the trim of the seats, door rolls, carpet edges etc)
Perhaps call one of the companies that specialize in replacement of interior trim? In the US I'd call Paul's Jaguar but not sure about the UK. Perhaps Gliptone? They manufacture seat dyes and I would think would know?
Cheers,
Allan

The two letter colour is the trimmed colour where an item of trim such as the seat has a secondary colour such as black piping, the three characters are the base colour, the two characters the trim colour. The codes CD and DW do not appear in my parts book but they will in somebodies.
An example for mine which is AEE - so base colour is Doeskin coloured leather.
The parts book lists a set of 2 character codes - I believe this all stopped with the facelifts but not certain
Under Scuttle Code LZ = Warm Charcoal
Seat Code XE = Doeskin
Carpets XF = Rattan
Door Casings XE = Doeskin
Rear Quarters XE = Doeskin
Flange Finishers PA = Black
Roof Lining ND = Limestone
A Posts XE = Doeskin
So your two letter code determines the secondary trim colours. Hope that makes sense.

For years, there's been a lot of misinformation and confusion amongst XJS owners about the 2-letter code that is stamped after the 3-letter seat trim code on the id label.
The 2-letter code is nothing to do trim colours. It indicates when the car was built.
Chris, the FG on your label indicates your car was built in June 1992.
Hope that helps
Paul

Just out of interest, how does FG indicate June 1992?
