The parts car looks like a later model. If the door threshold plates are in good shape, and you don't want them, I'd be interested.

Since the one on the parts car was broken, you might try this:

Just saw it today.

Is the rear window seal and chrome trim still intact around the glass? I need the seal. I have the glass.. thanks.. It has been difficult to find just the seal. That is why I asked about the glass, initially. I am after the seal/gasket. It has to be in one piece and not cut. If you can remove most of the glass and retrieve the seal with some parts of glass in it, that is fine. Let me know. Thanks...

Not sure I agree at all with this statement so wondering what you are basing this on. The early XJS' were not well received and had all kinds of quality issues. I see the last XJS' commanding a premium due to constantly improved quality all through the car and better mechanics.

You already see the market reflecting this and IMO the gap will continue to widen in the future. In reality there were many less convertibles then coupes produced in the 21 year production run and many less 4.0L and 6.0L XJS' produced.

The E-type and the XJS are 180 degrees different in their demand curves as the most sought after E-types were the first generations and the XJS is the last.

??? The rear glass seal is available in e-bay from two different vendors for $32. I had zero problems finding the front or the rear seals. Rock Auto has them too. http://www.rockauto.com/m/mobilecatalog.php

This seal was made only for (v) 186019 TO (V) 191494. I am not in need of the glass. I have checked rockauto. They do not stock this seal or the one after (v) 191495.

The car is a1988. So I don't think it will help you.

Yep, you're correct. Won't work only because the 1988 seal was without the chrome trimming around the glass. Appreciate the response..

I must say, the center stack with the aluminum trim and analog clock (working or not..) is a nice touch that I wish they would have brought back in some of the later cars. Reminds me of the early E Types...
