OK, I'm confused.

I am assuming you got a V12????.

Power steer and water pump = 1 belt
A/con and air pump (or idler pulley) = 1 belt.
Alternator = 1 belt.
Engine driven fan = 1 belt.

Room to work = ZERO.

Rounded heads on bolts and nuts = heaps.

There is a threaded rod adjuster on 3 of the belts. One on the alternator, one on the power steer pump, one on the air pump/idler pulley. The fan belt is on a spring loaded adjuster, from memory, as I have had thermo fans on mine since 1997.

The power steer pump adjuster is just plain covered by anything and everything. The thermo housing is in the way, the small electric fan is in the way, the actual filler neck of the pump is in the way, and then due to the bolts and nuts being so damn tight, it just tests your love for the car. The other 2 are not too bad.

As I said, once sorted, and done up to an acceptable tension, rounded bolts and nuts replaced, a bit of never-seize here and there, next time will be a snap.

 

Ok so I got all the 3 pump belts off, but think I need to jack up front end to get to alternator..your not wrong about the ps pump..I thought it would all be metric tools on it too...appears to be imperial..n

Did all the belts...bit cramped in an 8 ft x 16ft garage but got there...anyhow realised I was getting wet when engine was running ...water pumps leaking at the bearing I think.

Have ordered one but the bigQ. Do I fit myself...much self asteem,save cash..but lose driving time and get sore hands? Or pay a mechanic.

 

Change it yourself. You've already done 90% of the work yourself once already.

Are you positive it's the WP? It probably is, but there are a couple other things that may possibly leak there as well, the crossover pipe and cap or even the radiator, because the fan can suck leaking antifreeze away from the front of the car and blow it all over the front of the engine. These are actually unlikely though.

As Darel said, very do-able yourself, but time consuming for sure.

The fan shrouds etc will have to come out, just for room (I THINK) as it is tight in there.

There are myriad of hoses in there that I would be really checking before doing the pump.

The hose on top of the pump between the cross pipe and the pump is notorious for leaking. As is the pipe itself, done a few of them.

The lower radiator hose itself is also highly suspect.
