Default Is it a TWR? How do i recognise it?

Guys, good evening, got my eyes on a local advertisement related to car from USA.
Looking to bumpers it seems to be TWR model. How do i recognise it from a fake one? - meaning only bumpers where replaced.
Attaching couple pictures.
1989 Jag XJS 5.3 USA

How much does it worth - whats your opinion?

unless you have an original invoice from TWR UK, then there is no real way of confirming this information as all the records are gone ,

TWR were an aftermarket company that admittedly worked hand in hand with Jaguar cars but were separate until they helped turn Jaguarsport XJRS cars out, these have a unique VIN , where any TWR car was a 'normal' car later converted and worked on

TWR ( a separate company to Jaguar Cars Ltd) took new or existing 'normal' cars of any age and 'converted' them to the customers requirement from a simple suspension job to full engine enhancements and bodykits ,

XJRS or Jaguarsport did not exist until they merged and produced the XJRS Jaguarsport using the idea's TWR implinmented, when TWR ceased to convert XJS cars , this was around 1990, TWR still worked as a company but in different areas on different cars independently,

you must also realise, that there were up to 15 different non Jaguar Cars Ltd XJS modification companies, some you may have heard of like Lynx, but most were very expensive and not very sucessful,

if the VIN stamped on the bulkhead flange starts like this SAJJNAEW , then its a 'normal' car, that TWR could have worked on , but as i said, proof is needed as the VIN is normal

if it starts SAJJSAEW , then its a Jaguar cars ltd Jaguarsport XJRS ,

looking at your pics, its a (UK YEARS as thats where it came from) a late 1988 to mid 1991 car as it has the TEVES ABS braking system and the Magneti Marelli ignition system, the XJRS had a Zytec ignition system and look different under the bonnet

Thanks everyone - most probably it's aftermarket "TWR" body kit and car is not a "hidden" treasure.
So pass.

The 6 litre XJRS had zytek engine management but the first 300 odd cars were 5.3 litre with standard ignition. These cars still carry the S in the vin.

That vin number says it is NOT XJRs.
I think the TWR conversions would also have finished that far into Jaguar sports existence.

XJR-S production started in June 1988. TWR didn't convert cars after that date. The car shown was made in December 1988 so it seems to be a standard car with some bits of bodykit put on it.

yoopas why are you looking to buy a TWR? For the "hidden value"? Or for the driving experience? And what are you looking to pay?
