URO Hoses

Getting ready to re-hose my coolant system, 1989 Jaguar XJS V12. Saw the post where the author suffered a radiator hose failure. Anyone else have issue with these hoses? I would hate to have to deal with a return but don't want to experience a failure. My hose set was purchased from a recommended, on this site, parts dealer. Thanks! Merry Christmas to everyone by the way!

As a general rule, I avoid Uro parts at all costs. I have personal anecdotes - like the Uro tie rod assemblies on my BMW 635CSi that the bolts stripped out when I snugged them up with my 1/4" drive ratchet. Or go to some of the other European car forums and read up there. Here is one of my personal favorites that I remember from my days as a Mercedes guy. I think Al is on this forum too.
I was in the same boat as you this summer and after evaluating my options I bought the silicone hose set from ebay.

It's nice to see familiar faces in the car circles.
So how does a company stay in business after selling sub standard parts for decades? because we're cheap. The strategy is simple. Sell sub standard parts at knock down prices becuase people make their buying decisions on price and not much else. This has pushed all the quality brand manufacturers to discontinue support for older cars as they're not able to compete on price without lowering quality. The consumer doesnt care, so now they're the only game in town.
I heard some time ago that they becaome an OE supplier to Jaguar so I recently inquired about their suspension bushings on this forum and from my understanding, nothing changed in 10 years.

Hi everyone! As mentioned we've certainly had our share of issues in the past, but we've grown from one engineer to more than twelve full-time, in-house engineers over the last eleven years. We've also greatly expanded our R&D capabilities with the latest laser scanning, material analysis, and strength and cycle-testing equipment. In addition to using this advanced lab technology and engineering expertise when developing new products, more than one thousand legacy items have also been improved after careful analysis and updates to design, material, or manufacturing process. Naturally nothing is ever "perfect", but thanks to product ideas and helpful feedback from professional shop techs and DIY enthusiasts, URO offers ever-increasing value to its customers.
Don't take our word for it though, see the following 4.5 to 5-star Amazon reviews for more than 40 of our coolant hoses for Jaguar:

If anyone has an issue with one of our parts (especially something purchased in the last year or so), please visit the "Contact Us" page of the APA Industries website and let us know the details so we can take action on it ASAP.
