V12 cylinder head jacking/removal tool hire in the UK
Hi,
Does anyone know if I can hire a V12 head jacking/removal tool in the UK? I have stripped my engine down to the heads and need the jacking removal tool. I know I can purchase them, but it difficult to justify the expense for a one off requirement.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

Have you considered making a tool, it is a flat 1 inch thick plate with holes that allow the camshaft cap bolts to go through and taps for longer bolts that mesh against the head studs.
here is one for 250 on ebay uk: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-V1...-/173116248576

G'day Gents,
A question on the removal of V12 heads, is it possible to remove the head studs from the block with the heads still in place or is it just impossible to get a good enough grip on the stud ends to be able to turn them?
Not that I need to but I was just wondering.
Cheers,
Jeff.

As has been said crud builds up on the studs.
You will have a much better time of it if you get something to remove the crud.
30% vinegar works. Not grocery store vinegar that’s 6% at best. A good hardware store will have it.
You can also use radiator flush. Fill the coolant hose with it. ( remember to plug the water pump intake) let it sit for a few day then flush it out. Repeat until everything comes out clear.
