I can make one for $150 plus shipping. I'm using high temp wire, soldered connections, new connectors, I make it longer so it can be lifted up and attached to the fuel rail away from the heat and I include a replacement male and female plug where it plugs into the main harness (it's slightly different than the factory plug, but is higher quality so should resist corrosion better)
If you or anyone else wants one, let me know.

Sorry, my bad. I just noticed that you have the marelli car, so forget the distributer stuff, with one exception: do the fix on the rotor shaft to help prevent the dreaded meltdown and you'll have no worries.

I too originally purchased my XJS to ditch the V12 and install an LS1 - but I have fallen in love with the V12 and would never swap it out now.

Last year we drove the XJS from Perth to Sydney around the south coast of Australia did about 6000km.

We had a few problems AC compressor S@#$ its self and she overheated badly on the last leg of the journey I almost did the Radiator before we left OH well its done now) and a spark plug lead died - did the last 1000kms as a V11 disconnected the fuel injector to that pot and almost did not notice the missing cylinder on the open road.

Be warned these cars are Toxic they get into your blood and turn you into a crazy Jag lover.

Ok guys I got a chance to really inspect the car and there is good and bad news. It has some cancer but it is not really bad or at structural points, Two spots in the floor board by the drivers feet and two spots near the rear wheels, both sides, on the side panel. My friend is a body guy and I have bribed him with a cooler of beer if he will help me strip the paint and clean up the rust spots.

Now with the engine I still haven't gotten it to run. My brother sprayed some ether(sp) and it turned on but of course died. Has a new fuel pump but it is not clicking on. Usually I can read a car from the oil cap and tail pipe but he put new exhaust on the car when he got it and it has not run in a while so both areas are very clean. I am willing to spend a little getting the car up mechanically but I really need to be sure its going to run strong before I waist my money in that direction. Here are few shots of the rust spots:

Edit:

After really thinking about it and following the time line I think I have figured out why he stopped driving the car around 06 - 08 and I have a feeling it has something to do with Hurricane Ike. while I know he had lots of projects going it looks to me like the damage to the car is water related and with it sitting in an area that's not on concrete if he left it there that could explain why the car is in good condition and bad at the same time. I am goin to wait till my friend drops buy to ensure what I have seen is accurate and the body is sound. If so I will complete the body work. From there I will start work on the cars systems to see if I can keep it factory or have to convert it.
