Every single thing in this picture looks ideal, except you'll want to fuel up, and toss in some Archoil fuel treatment followed up with the oil friction modifier for 30% reduction in heat/friction ...but thats just my personal opinion.
My car with stock radiator, dead squirrels in between the grille, and hot summer weather still runs about the same on highway and jumps all around in city traffic, though you see alot more gauge movement when you run mostly water. If your concerned about temps a proper digital gauge wouldn't hurt, autometer is good, and you can hide a gauge inside the center armrest console if its too unsightly for the dash.
Looks good. I'd be even happier, though, after getting a rough idea of actual temperature with an infra-red thermometer. The gauges on these cars can be flakey. "Middle of the N" might be 80ºC on one car, 90ºC on the next, and 100ºC on the next.
Cracker:
Perfect temperature.
Vancouver: tell me more about the friction modifier, please
Archoil makes industrial grade friction and combustion modifiers for engines, gearboxes, gas/diesel etc. I've always had night and day differences when using it to revive diesel trucks, and my old cars.
now in those Ford trucks the injectors are operated by high pressure oil so any issues on the oil side will cause all kinds of sluggishness. My experience with the products on the XJS has been good I found it was noticebly smooth/revs much faster, and radiated less heat at idle.
I like it. I shoot for the center of the "N" with mine (see "Her Highness Pitches A Hissy Fit" thread), and I would be ecstatic if she ran that cool, especially in town.
