But, at 3365 lbs, I will peacefully let you pass on by. But let the road get twisty, and we shall see!

I know that you've put a ton of research into this topic, because of the many conversations we had about it several years ago. I still have that spreadsheet you made, which illustrates the speed in gears/total ratio for various trans/diff combinations. Good stuff, and, many thanks.

Hey Zilla,,thought youd be interested in this car.

1967 Pontiac GTO , but modded with a 7.4L (454) Chevy V8 engine , 6 speed Richmond transmission, and HD GM 12 bolt rear end (Dana 60).

small world ,its about 1/2 mile from me, for sale, dont know price!
car looks like perfect condition!

Great look-in GTO, I just wonder why he went with a Dana 60 12 bolt ? I read "somewhere" that a Dana 44 or a Salisbury 10 bolt is the way to go, it will even take 600 HP ???? Now if this guy really wanted to make this Goat bullet proof He could in stall a chrome Jag IRS with his 10 bolt

44l, the car is all done ,ready to go, why change when you can just drive it.

believe me that it is a very fast car, most modded BBC 454, get around 600hp anyway!

actually the GM 12 bolt and Dana 60 are two different rears, but close cousins.

44Lawrence:

Ronbros is great- that's part of why I rose to mess with him on the setup he's running (when he picked on us guys who are the manual box boys). Seriously, though, Ronbros' charm is his wisdom and long view, and I for one, love when he chimes in.

I have to say, too, man, I had a shot at a 67 GTO hardtop while I was in college (many, many moons ago), for a ridiculous price- maybe 3-400 bucks. Wasn't too special of a car, just the 400 and an auto, but, hey. Very solid car. Had no place to keep it while hitting the books. Was sad about that for a week or two. And, already had too many run ins with the local federalies from my HS days where I ran a 69 Judge with all the stuff (RA IV, 4 speed, way too fun for a guy my age at the time), so, I had to get through the rest of school with an 'aunt Bessie' kind of car: a Plymouth valiant, slant six. Gawd, what a come down.

Now I drive pretty much what I wish...and I still like those late 60's GTOs!
