Regarding...…. 1994 XJS V12 6L convertible 2+2...…….starting problem
First of all thanks to all you great folks for your input in resolving this problem
Check engine light comes on with code to replace Crankshaft Position Sensor …..replaced with BWD aftermarket sensor from Advance Auto Parts
Check engine light goes out but still have starting problem.....must be fuel problem?...so, pulled gas tank and replaced both fuel pumps, filters, fuel regulator , and strainer...….Still have same starting problem!!!!….She starts cold ONLY
Get a suggestion from forum to check that CPS from BWD installed in the very beginning. So, I called Gary at Jag Bits and he had an OE Factory CPS.....We installed it and Guess what ??? She starts perfectly now hot or cold.
Lesson learned ….Go OE
By the Way......One of the Jag Parts suppliers lists their CPS as OE and when I had the phone guy pull the sensor and confirm that it WAS OE....He sadly advised that it was not. You have to be your own best advocate.....Getting a confirmation of OE can save your Jag......Big Thanks to Gary at Jag Bits
