...today I bought some spare parts… LOL ...3 whole cars.... Now to get them home.
Yoooouuuuzzzzzaaaa That's some tore up Jaguars!!! I just thought my project was ambitious! Are you going to build one out of the 3 or just use for parts??? Good Luck.
thought I would decorate the weather board of the garage with some engine plaque repair vinyl stickers I commissioned black and chrome and red 6lt versions excellent in every detail including the font and beautifully produced, used the red in the end but I still have loads available
pm me for details
1993 XJS Convertible, British Racing Green (EDIT: it's actually HFB, Brooklands Green). 81,000 miles. Great shape all around.
I sold my '94 XJS Coupe (138k+ miles) and my '89 Canadian XJ12 (grey market). Less time to work on those projects and I wanted a driver.. This one will do nicely.

Reason: mistaken color code

Padre,
Congratulations, looks great and a great color. Is that a barley color interior?
Sorry to hear you sold your SIII V12. Did you put many miles on it while you owned it?

Alas, no. The bad right-side gas tank was an issue. Really couldn't drive it far. Overall, nice car, but needed some work to be a driver. Just didn't have the time to do that. And with the Coupe and the XJ12 just sitting there, I thought about it a lot and decided as fun as tinkering with them was, I really wanted a driver.
The interior is the AFW code Barley. And just realized the exterior is HFB, Brooklands Green.
A very simple fix today--finally replaced the cruise control bush. On my last major road trip I had realised that the reason the cruise control didn't work was because the grommet holding the rod had failed, allowing the rod to pull loose from the socket thing. David Manners had the part, but was going to charge several times what it was worth to post. Even domestically to family in the UK would be more than the part cost! But a bit later I needed to place a large order for redoing the front wishbone bushes, so tossed in two of these--one spare.
Hmmm. Should this be like this?
Wow, that's some serious discolouration....
And there it is. Also polished the rod while I had it out, and put lots of CRC on the thread so it won't be as hard to get out.
A very simple operation, but satisfying nonetheless. I have been doing/getting done a few other things as well--new "XJS" badge for the rear, new growler hub caps, and a respray of the roof and boot as they were looking rather the worse for wear. Apparently the roof at least had already been resprayed once. Might be why it was in notably worse condition than the bonnet. And today I also experimented with redyeing the driver's seat. Needs another coat or two.
Been away from forum for several months concentrating on new business venture which looks now as though it will probably succeed.
Problem is this: In August I purchased a "91 XJS convertible with reasonably decent appearance and okay top.
So far I have replaced all subframe mounts, all fuel hoses, AC compressor and receiver/dryer, all new Pirelli P600 (($1200), rebuilt PCB for cruise control, Serviced cooling system (including rodding radiator, new thermostats, caps, and all hoses), new idle/auxillary valve, new plugs, new injector heat shields, new rear mufflers, new wiper motor assembly, new tach, several interior light fixtures, flushed TH400 tranny and replaced pan gasket, rebuilt steering rack mount, aligned all wheels and steering, replaced defective brake system accumulator, replaced miscellaneous trim pieces, replaced rubber front bumper, repaired speedometer, replaced missing hood boot, and several interior switches. I still haven't been able to make the bonnet easy to latch, but that's a minor worry.
At present the vehicle runs better than any other Jaguar I've ever owned (or driven) and I'm quite happy with it. Now it's time for some cosmetic work, and the first item is the carpeting covering the compartment behind the seats, which looks as though it has a bad case of mange.
I have had no problem sourcing parts (although I had to use heat shields from Mercedes-Jag won't sell them independent of the injectors), but I cannot seem to contact anyone who deals in the material used in the carpeting.
My question is this: Can anyone recommend a source?
Meanwhile, I've got about $23K tied up in a $12-14K car, so I'll have to make up the difference in sheer driving pleasure.
Thanks in advance.

New expansion valve since the o-rings were leaking on the top connections, and dryer of course. (Had to pull it to fix those may as well replace it)
Vacuum held steady all week at 28, so tomorrow I'll recharge.
I AM SOOOOOOO JEALOUS. The expansion valve attempted scared the hell out of me and i gave up. Still trying to get my AC right... Sid have success with the Porsche 928 tho...
Got some new seat covers and carpets are on the way.
About the seats,,,, don't ask, lololol... OMG
Actually, it's going ok... Just out of the monster After opening and lubing. Pump and bladder work! Not strapped down, at all,, only pulled over the frame. Got heat??? Ready to be fitted...
