I agree. That does a great job of showing the curve of the wider fender panels.

Either of the options you listed will be a huge improvement over the stock Turbo 400 that you have now. However, if you are going to spend that much money, why not change over to a 5 or 6-speed manual transmission?

xjsv12,

Do you have better photos of your grill? From what I can see in your pix, it looks very similar to what I am planning for JagZilla's grill.

1800doogie,
I'm curious about how they managed that without also modifying/relocating the rear subframe rails, which are pretty much flush with the inner wheel well, if I remember correctly. Is there a reference to it in Allan Scott's book?

***EDIT***

Never mind. I found it on pages 46 & 47.

Going back to the original question of 'What if', how come there was never a factory built Ute?

Probably because Jaguar knew something like that would never sell enough units to pay for the tooling. It has no character, no pizazz.

On the other hand, something like this would be a huge seller here in the US

Perhaps, but yours is just silly! It's a Jaaaaag, it should be somewhat understated.

All joking aside, The photo you posted may not be my pick as the ideal model to use as a ute, but, the craftsmanship was very evident. I've seen one or two photos of well executed XJS ute conversions over the years, and, because of the flying buttresses, they actually present as a half decent looking ute.

Extremely silly but it looks like a huge amount of work has gone in to it. I like the rear treatment where the back window is removed completely and the cross over spoiler fitted, neat job.

Thanks xjsv12. That is very similar to what I have planned for my grill, except that I will likely paint the mesh black, to contrast the chrome V12 emblem and grill frame.

I dunno Steve M. This profile of the so called Tiger Car is pretty hideous. It appears that they took the stock rear side windows, and rotated them in such a way that their current bottom edge is what used to be the front edge, and they have slanted the rear point of that window downward in such a way that it completely destroys any possibility of a flowing, cohesive design, giving the car a very ungraceful and clunky appearance.

What If...-tigercar-profile.jpg

I do, however, like the front and rear bumperette treatment, and have just about settled on doing something similar, instead of my original plan to weld two sets of chrome bumper blades together in order to create a slim, all-metal, horizontal bumper.

What If...-6413-940.jpg

Or, in keeping with my semi-competition theme for the car, I may do something like the jacking points Shelby put at the front and rear of the 427 SC Cobras. Those should be fairly cheap, and easy to source from any Cobra kit car manufacturer.
