Yup, 75 degrees in MA over the weekend. Now all we need is a blue car to complete the series.

They were stock on late 6.0 XJS', 95 and 96 I believe. I have them on my 95.

According to the official sales literature:

"Also new for 1995 is a 20-spoke alloy wheel, with diamond-turned finish, carrying a center cap with a gold-tone growler on black background."

Very pretty wheels, but a PITA to keep clean! The black background center caps were pretty worn, so swapped them out for red background ones from a fellow forumite. Think they work well with the gold hood growler (from the same forumite, replacing the PO's large hood leaper). Pirelli Cinturato P7 225/60 R16 tires courtesy of previous owner.

And I see none of our '95s are sporting the front fender V12 badge. Again, from the sales literature:

"On each front fender, a silver-toned V12 badge is now displayed below the leaper..."

I found one V12 badge in a bag in my center console, had wondered where it was supposed to go and why there was only one.

I am always looking at this fantastic site but not a prolific poster, here is my 95 2+2 85k miles. MG just sold, had 44k miles. Quietly looking for an XJR or an XJS V12.
After seeing all these stunning pictures taken of these magnificent cars, I must make a promise to get out more in the car and take some pictures in the desert here in Phoenix.
Keep the pics coming, really enjoying them all.

Hi gmacaz

I've got an MGB the same as yours 'T' Reg 1978 in Russet Brown and while it is one of those Colors that seems to get a 'bad rap' on an MGB it is for me, one of my favorite Colors of all time

Also got a 95 Celebration Convertible in Morocco Red with Cream (Sorry I mean Creme Hide Interior) Lol with diamond cut alloys, that still looks as good as new although I find I hardly ever use it, in favor of my V12

Hi Inertian

If you think those are Hard to Clean then try Cleaning 'Lattice Alloys'

I expect the leaper badges are fitted to the XJSs that US owners have, because of some strange US legislation that precluded the fitment of front wing side indicators? So, Jaguar had to fill up the hole in the wing for cars going to the US, which would normally house the indicator lights (see pic of my car above).

From April 94, Jaguar tried to distinguish more between the 4 litre and the 6 litre, so they changed the trim levels etc. Jaguar tried to market the 4 litre to the world as the sportier version with colour-coded headlight bezels and door mirrors. But weirdly, for the US, they reversed the principle and applied it to the 6 litre. Who knows why?

It's part of that separation between the modelsthat probably meant they chose to add the V12 badges to the front wings also.

Hello community!

I am Oliver, 48 years young and live in "Buchholz in der Nordheide" - a small town near Hamburg in Northern Germany. My Jag is a 1995 XJS 4.0 Convertible Celebration in British Racing Green re-imported from the USA. I worked a lot on it to bring it into this condition.

A local TV station was very interested in my car... so they made a nice car report about the car and the owner...:

Lovely car, Oliver!

Ditch the leaper and it will look even better!

No, no... The leaper is THE most shown item in the youtube video. It is the most outstanding highlight of this car... to be honest for uninformed spectators of course. I understand your point: For known users (such as here in the forum) the leaper is not an original part. Some "experts" think, it is historically not correct to have one because no XJS had left the manufacturer hall with a jumping wildcat on its front.

BUT... today the XJS has turned into a classical vehicle... an oldtimer, for slow cruises on sunday afternoon, not for racing with 200 km/h on german highways. This model is iconic. Although my car is just 28 years old and in nearly perfect conditions, most people think it is about 40 years old. I love the golden attachments I've added to my baby: the golden Leaper, the golden pin strips on the sides, the golden trunk badges and the golden wheel hub plates. Every part could be (nearly) original. Now it looks even more classical, more oldtimer-like, more iconic!

And in my opinion it is historically correct to have a leaper because in the past also many buyers decorated new Jaguars with leapers... on their own... not by factory.

Hard to weather the "Bomb Cyclone" we are experiencing in Northern California with flakey windscreen wipers! Found a lot of rust in the armature assembly. Gave everything a good clean and serviced the brushes. Now the wipers work every time and have some "pep" in their step. All time & no money are my favorite Jag repairs. This was on my '93 4.0 coupe.
