I finally managed to get all of the garbage out of the garage the previous owner left me (6 truck loads of garbage) to finally get my fat cat in the garage to work on it
Nothing really. I think I'm going to keep it, but it was a one owner car and for its age still pretty nice. I was planning to sell it to buy a cheaper one, say $2000 when they come up and put the rest of the money into parts.
From the MOT station. Approved with an advisory on hazard lights, which was not working at all. I had never used them and hadn't thjought of testing the function before MOT.
Tomorrow I can celebrate the cars 40th birthday
My wife just came home with this car without my knowledge at all last week! She grew up with Jaguars and her dad had many E-Types, XJ6s & etc for past 40 years or so. She has always been into XJS and she has known the owner of this car and apparently they had an agreement to sell it to her if he was to ever sell it.
It is a 1992 with 21K miles on it and it is 100% as factory delivered down to its original tires. It has never been in any bad weather and maintained religiously while still keeping it 100% original.
I would like to either get new tires for it (P600s) but a part of me wants to change out the rims so that factory delivered wheels & tires remain with us for show purposes.... So the search is on for a new set of rims & tires. Jury is out weather we want Revolvers, Asteroids or my personal favorite "Penta's". Or.......?
Of course we wont be driving this thing around on highway speeds until the 26 year old tires are taken care of.....
Here are couple of pictures from the evening she brought it home.
Summer in Japan means: sweltering humidity, soaring temperatures, engine temperatures rather hotter than I like, and lots and lots of rice growing in the paddy fields.... Taken by a small rural village in the nearby hills.
I couldn't narrow them down to just one photo, sorry....
