Bought the XJ6 two weeks ago for $2,900, with 145,450 miles on it, have put 255 miles on it so far. Bought the XJS Saturday with 159,000 miles on it for $1,950, have not driven it yet except for the short test drive when buying it. Currently on a non-op, and will have to wait until after Oct 24th to get it off the non-op otherwise I will have to pay for 2 years of registration instead of one. Currently at mechanic's place being checked out. Loving the XJ6 in the meantime.

95my 4.0 coupe purchased 13 months ago $10,500, 52000 miles, very good condition, needed new plugs, tires and air pump. It is my daily driver, now has 61,900 miles. Installed rebuilt factory 5 spoke wheels, added original front fog light system, and factory alarm switch in console. Replaced clock with trip computer, purchased used factory rear sway with all the parts, but need to make reinforcement to body before I can install. 95 & 96 had rear sway bar body mounting point removed from production. Now I have a nice set of 4, 16X7.5 wheels to dispose of.

I bought mine in December 2011, 74000km=46300miles, only ¥150000=$1500.
It is facelift XJS with 5.3 motor.
Maybe the least popular XJS, but thanks to that I was able to get it cheap.
The paint was kind of terrible but I had it repainted, the interior was great it only needed cleaning up. It's my daily driver and I often use this to travel long distance, now it has 104000km=65000miles.
The fabrication in my photo library. I am installing the rear cat substitute pipes soon.

My first is a 1987 Hess & Eisenhardt XJS convertible. Found it in a barn in southern Ohio, it has about 65-70 thousand miles on it but I have never driven it since I am still restoring it with love and care. It is called "Panache". It cost me 800 dollars and it had bird poop all over its black lacquer finish. I have treated the seats for 3 years this last August and they are now so soft.
My second is a 1993 facelift black XJS convertible with 155,000 miles on it. It was just bought in late July from a fellow who was in a divorce 3 years ago and he just wanted it gone. I helped him out with that. She purrs like a kitten but needs a tune up and she has no functional brakes...so far. She cost 2500.
Both cats are black with tan interiors. The 87 has a tan convertible top while the 93 has a black top. Both have tan top covers and each complements the other. God has greatly blessed me

I tried a few off the shelf products but tests in inconspicuous places showed they would take the color off. The seats in my '88 XJ-S are a lovely red wine color and I'd hate to ruin them.
Thanks in advance,

Seat treating goodies
Rhett: Seats will dry out and become too dry to sit on without cracking. In conjunction with the 87 Hess & Eisenhardt I got 3 years ago: It had been in a barn but the door for the barn was open and the seats were exposed to all the weather of southern Ohio and they were hard as a rock (almost). I used Preservation Solutions leather products on the seats and it saved the seats. I tried so many, even the stuff recommended by Jaguar and they did not do as good a job as the stuff I got from Pres. Sol. I am not pushing any product, I am answering a question posed to me and trying to save someone some "coin". I used a small paint brush to apply it since the rag I initially used soaked up most of the liquid. Connolly leather is very high quality leather and needs constant care or it gets hard.

Still, funny about the Riva car. The XJS world is indeed small!

I bought my 1987 XJS V12 coupe in spring 2013 for $1700 cdn. I have spent about $600 on it since then and put about 1000 km on it this summer. Some of the work I have done - headliner $59, spark plugs $60, ski slope $0, fuel pump $250, electric fan $15, fan clutch $70, headlight 15$, touch-up paint $30, interior carpet $30, battery $120.
I have kept the repair costs low and now have a car that is almost sorted. It is a joy to drive and a real head-turner. I get compliments on this car almost every time I drive it. I call it my budget super-car, lol.

Thank you so much for letting us know what products you use. I have yet to find something that works.
The leather seats on all of my cars and my truck are in great shape but dry and hard as hell! Given your success I can wait to give this a try.

Well, I'll be... I bet it's white! And in Riva! And you bought it from a nice lady who used it for a few years to get to the metro station and back? If so, I test drove that back in November 2012. Great looking car, but out of my price range. Ended up buying a 95 4L BRG here in Norfolk for $3K in December 2012. 107,000mi on the clock. It needed tons of work. I spent 6 months and probably another $2K getting her sorted. Now, she is pretty darn close to perfect. The AC isn't the greatest, but I think that is more due to the blower motors or baffles that need to be fixed. I also will probably end up respraying eventually. It had a Maaco job done about 3 years ago and it is passable (maybe even "good" to a less discerning eye) but I want to get a super quality respray on her.
Still, funny about the Riva car. The XJS world is indeed small!

Seat Resore and head turning
We are going to be getting tickets by the authorities for all the head turning our "Cats" cause. An XJS is a beautiful car and will turn heads everywhere it goes. As for the seat restoring, the people at Preservation Solutions have some stuff that is leather aroma and really smells great on the seats. The smell can get people to stop and look over your XJS if it is just sitting with the top down (I have 2 convertibles). Try Connollys Hide Food, I hear it is good for seats. Smooth drives to all and God bless!

I have had my 1991 xj6 sovereign with 102,000 on it for about a month . I actually won it in a raffle . I had 20.00 in tickets . It needs some work but thanks to this forum , some of the things are fixed . Unfortunately , my wife has taken a liking to the car . She likes to tell everybody about "her" Jag . I need to find another distraction for her . The air conditioner , gas gauge and windshield wiper didn`t work when I got it and it needs tires and brakes . I think I`m still under the money .

Bought my Jaguar XJS12 last week and I still havn't brought it home. Im in the middle of moving when I found her. It is completely stock with all doucumentation, no rust, dents or scratches. It has 60K USA miles and is White Pearl with Tan interior.
The car has been a Sunday driver for the last 24 years; thats 2500 miles per year. Some people do that in one week when traveling. I have to run it in good when I get it. Purchased in Philadelphia suburbs.
I have a lot to learn about this car.....its going to be a fun ride.....
I cant reveal the price, sorry, I may want to sell it for a profit someday.... lol!
