Well, I'm surprised that I haven't yet posted an entry here.
Purchased my 1994 XJS BRG convertible in the winter of 2000 from its second owner. The car was, then, only six years old and it had 47,500 miles. Paid $18,500 which was a fairly good price at that time for an XJS with no issues and in great shape. The conv. top had just been replaced only days before; leather and wood were like new. I never cared for BBS and/or this car's Lattice wheels, they were dated and, by then they were getting pretty old and had been featured for the last 7 straight years, so I installed new, chrome Revolvers with brand new Pirelli Pzeros and what a huge impact the wheels made, Wow! (see Gallery). A poor A/C needed the compressor repaired, plus the condenser was upgraded with a higher efficiency aluminum unit, which made a big difference in cooling. Well, it's going on 15 years of happy kitty ownership. These cars are truly majestic.
Cheers,

Out of fear for the Nikasil issue, I had sold my beautiful BRG XJ8L at exactly 100,000 miles (and only a few miles after the tensioner on one side had failed). I purchased my Zircon Blue 2002 XJR in October of 2006 with 27,815 miles, which wasn't bad for a 4 year old car. Paid $31,900, which included a good discount from a high 30's Blue Book. This car has never been the "project car" that my XJS is, but that doesn't mean that I leave the car alone. So, one of the first things that I felt compelled to do here was to upgrade the limited, so called "Premium sound" system that already had a cracking sun/heat-damaged subwoofer on the rear parcel shelf. Except for, perhaps, some wires, the entire system was removed and replaced with state of the art components of which the latest is a 7" TFT display head unit with A/V and USB interface (see gallery). --- On the bad side, two things happened during early ownership, luckily under warranty. The supercharger failed and had to be replaced, a very rare incident according to the local dealer. It also had the dreaded timing chain tensioner failure, but here's the catch: they'd repair the bad side under warranty, but if I wanted the good side done I had to pay for it, so I did, I had no choice ($1,400.00). -- It's too bad that this wonderful car's ownership has become a liability at this point with the electrical/processor's intermittent failures that cause it to go into that dreaded "limp home" mode. For years it was nothing but pure enjoyment because the XJR shape is superb and its acceleration is shocking to many who don't know otherwise. It's sweet and sour; a tremendous performer of a car that, unfortunately, you start to become affraid to drive too far from home. Bummer.
Cheers,

1994 xjs, no roof, and peeling paint, cracked tail lights, cracked bumper, 110k miles. it looked like it was in a high speed chase at one point. $2000 - it was driven daily when it was not raining.
I put about $2k into it, including painting it myself and installing the roof. re dyed the interior, replaced the tail lights, catalytic converter, idle control valve, tps sensor, coolant temp sensor, cut the spoler off the bumper cover, refinished all the wood. its been a reliable car.
I'm now looking at a 91 v-12 for $3500.

LS motor
Jaguar Front
Purchased a 1976 XJS on 5/14 out of Springfield MO. for $1,200 that was not running due to wiring issues, Previous owner had a rebuilt 90s model 350 with an 700 R trans.
After having the wiring corrected enough to make it start the motor had the biggest knock that I have ever heard in a car ! So I had the motor and tranny pulled had a LS 5.3 with a 4160E trans put in with cruise control and late model computer. Removed the entire wiring harness with custom harness and removed the AC system and replaced with a Vintage Air system. Currently putting in new carpet kit and looking for new front seats or seat covers next. I know some purest out there will not like the GM drive train but it already had it when I started and I just made it better. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car on a road trip since it is now LUCUS Free !!! and it will white smoke the tires and still get in the mid 20s MPG !

My parents bought the car new in 1989, sold in 2008 to a guy who sat it out in a field. I bought it back last year and have brought it back from a not running state, and did the proper maintenance for a car that has been sitting for so long. Around 120K on the clock, but only a couple hundred under my ownership so far. Can't tell you how excited I am to have her back!
