When to put your car away
With reduced Temps I can turn off the AC, put the top down or open the windows enjoy, life is great!. I have an XK8 Convertible Your question
really gives me a chance to boost. I have a car for all seasons!
I am from New York, experienced winters, I got rid of chains, windshield scrapers, and anti-freeze years ago. Good Luck I

My typical last day is on my birthday in mid November. Being on the east shore of Lake Michigan we get dumped on with lake effect. Both Jags go for naps but are never really stored. A nice day with dry road and they get an hour or so workout. Besides that they get started and warmed up enough to wake any critters and burn them out. I have had some wiring eaten before so they both get some critter killer under the hood and other areas. They nap on tarps to prevent ground moisture and covered with real good covers, and of course battery tenders. This winter both will be spending a good amount of time in the garage;
-suspension bushings
- wheel bearing checks/replace
- knock sensor bank 1 on both code rectification
-P1647 resolution on both, probably a converter on XJR
-pull super chargers on both and take care of octopus hose. I am going to try and make better solution out of copper or aluminum.
-reupholstering of XKR front seats and Lake Pipes with diverters if the checkbook holds out.

My '91 XJS Coupe was my daily driver, took her out in every kind of weather imaginable, never let me down. My current '95 Convertible is my good weather/weekend driver. She's in great shape and want to keep her that way. Got a 4WD SUV for really bad winter weather.
Mentioned to the wife that I was planning to garage the Jag for the winter and she said 'I thought you were going to drive it year round since you love it so much".
Except for wet/snow/salt conditions, I think that probably is a better plan!

My various Jags over the many years have always been my daily drivers so they get used year-round. But in honesty I must say that winters in my neck o'the woods are pretty mild so there's really no reason to avoid driving the Jag. Besides, having a Jag and not driving it is like torture for me.
I have a 4WD pick-up that's suitable for the rare days when we have significant snowfall. The Jag is just too low slung and gets hung-up too easily. Other than that I've found Jags to be excellent for foul weather driving.
All that being said.....
I recently acquired a TR6 and it is SO much fun that I've been driving it quite often. It has supplanted the Jag as a DD...at least until the newness wears off!

Worst thing for a car is to have it sit for any period of time. I do agree that driving in colder climates with snow, road salt, etc is not a good thing. I keep the XKR in my mom-in-laws garage (about 10 miles away from my house) starting around Halloween (October 31st). Every 2 weeks I take it for a ride, top off gas, clean it up, etc. Actually have a "Jag Drive" note on my Google calendar as a reminder. If is is a snowy day or lots of snow on road, I skip that day. Insured by Grundy for short money (~$250 per year) so I keep it registered and insured and avoid those re-insure/re-register hassles. Usually comes back to the home garage around St. Patrick's day depending on winter weather forcast.

Jaguar Storage... and its' tires.....
I have been doing some overall research per my F-Type, convertible with Continental OEM tires... 40/45 R 18
have a large tire print... when sitting... so I am buying the drive on.. Tire cradles for each tire to rest on and minimize flat spotting....
It is not a major issue per two or three weeks in warm weather... but 3 months..+ not good.

i use a Delran Battery Tender + About $69.

Other here use the C-tek , which is a bit more costly. Both are good products capable of doing the job.

PS I know from experience that the Delran Battery Tender + can be ran over more than once and still function perfectly, even if it’s not as pretty as once new.

wiring was not proper for the battery charging circuit ... not expensive and I know they did all correct with their Jaguar tender so not to
worry, vas. a few dollars.
