Default Where are the front 'parking lights'

In the name of trying to track down a bulb fail warning light, I noticed that in the second/parking light setting on the stalk switch there are no lights on the front. I had thought the the orange rectangles were it but I was told on another forum that they weren't - that those are just the turn signals/flashers. Now I'm totally confused, where are the front parking lights? It all started when I went trying to find the ground/earth for them. Any help?

TIA,
Tony

On my XJR...I suspect the same for your XJS....the "parking lights" are a separate small bulb within the main headlamps...giving a soft, haunting glow :-). The amber lamps in the bumer are signal lamps only, as you say.

These are sometimes referred to as "city lights" or "pilot lights".
