2. Leaper on hood
3. Side moulding strips and/or chrome wheel arches

7. Low profile tires
8. Lowered or slammed rides
9. Pinstripes (unless OEM but better without)
10. Loud exhausts
Feel free to disagree but won't change the fact that you are wrong. Note that these same 10 no-no's can pretty much apply to any car, but they seem most egregious on a Jaguar. Any of these by itself will undoubtedly inform all of the world that you are indeed a man of poor taste and questionable decision making skills, but any 2 or more combined will qualify you for an internet meme all your own and a special parking space at your local Waffle House.
You get your own booth at the WH if you have a chrome front license plate with gold leaper
If you have all of the above, then you obviously wear a matching plush leisure suit with an ascot and travel with a small entourage. Of course it has to be small because it's a 2+2.
Now pass me that Grey Poupon. For my hashbrowns.

Oh good I havent participated in one of these in while.
I have a leaper in my XJS. It was sold like that brand new to my grandfather and presented as a factory option, but it was just a dealer add-on… It’s the only “non-factory” item in my car. I do think leapers look aesthetically pleasing in the XK150 and the XJS because their shape lends to it.
The E types, XK8, and F types don’t wear it well. I have made the case for leapers in the XJS because of the obscure but factual case of Coventry giving the show producers of “The Return of the Saint” a XJS fitted with a leaper high up on the bonnet.
Wire-wheels are the least egregious of the aftermarket wheels IMO. No other AM wheels work because they look too modern. Wheels are the most visible and most definitive of any AM modification. Everything else can blend in ….
I think people get in trouble when they start doing multiple things: leaper + aftermarket wheels +chrome door guards +chrome wheel well/fender trim +aftermarket fog lights. One thing can be imperceptible, but the combo of multiple items is where the aesthetic starts suffering greatly

This should be a list of 11. Not sure why side moulding strips and chrome wheel arches share the same line. I could kinda understand it if you shared moulding with pinstripes. To me you gotta pick one or the other. I am not a fan of the moulding at all, but I suppose it has a function, whereas the pinstriping can look nice, if there's no moulding. Chrome wheel arches scream hiding rust to me.

I'm reminded of that scene from Mel Brooks' History of the World where Moses has 3 stone tablets with the 15 Commandments and drops one and in mid sentence says "I hereby give you God's 15.. (drops tablet)... er, make that 10 Commandments"
Just for the record, I had Daytona 15" 60 spoke wires on my 91 conv for over 24 years. Never had them "tuned" or checked,. Had a 5speed Tremec 3.54 diff, Lot racing & "hole shots", busted up IRS,1 blasted 3.70 diff. All this before I "wised up"& $$$ later, BUT not one issue with the wires. Maybe just lucky, Bitch to clean though.
My XJS came with Dayton 15" 70-spoke wire wheels, probably swapped by the selling Jaguar dealer when it was first sold. They had 5 lug nuts rather than the knock off style. I think this is what most US dealers fit back in the day. To each their own, but I replaced them with the 16" 5-spoke Jaguar wheels that came on many of the 1994-1995 XJS models. But I agree, your best bet would be Dayton wheels in the USA or keep an eye out on ebay, craigslist, Facebook marketplace, or put a want ad in the forums. I sold the ones that came with my car years ago. They are heavy wheels, shipping was not cheap.
pic of my 1975 XJ12C coupe 17s rare , someone spent big money because had to change rear to Genuine Knock off hubs and rear end assembly, along with complete brake setup and pedal box Jaguar 4 speed transmission!
sold it dint know it might be valuable someday! genuine Jaguar wires knock off! 75 Jag coupe V12

I agree with these mostly except pre face-lift look good with wire wheels and with some rims and raised white letter tires.
