I have a 1989 XJS (no air bag). I want to replace the OE steering wheel with a wooden one. How difficult is this procedure? Is a steering wheel exchange reliable? The OE steering wheel is VERY close to the wiper and blinker stems - is there an extension for the column? Thanks for any suggestions !!!

Hello Marty
Very recent post about the steering wheel

Mine is a bit different has an aftermarket wheel with a central horn button. As the warning goes - undo the central nut but don't remove it completely and give the wheel a tug, should then pop off.
On some of the other cars I have had - I have had to use a puller to get the wheel off
Welcome to the forum - and you need to post some pictures of your toy
Cheers
