Would an XJS using 0/40 Oil or 5/40 Oil use more Oil than an XJS using 10/40 Oil

Ok, I understand the mangle scenario (even though I am under 60!) but why would racers use it? They run around at max chat all the time so the oil is going to be mangled a lot harder and have to dissipate a lot more heat than your average cruise down Sunset Boulevard.
I am not saying that my oil pressure has gone up by 20 or 30 psi, maybe only 4 or 5 but it is definitely also running a bit cooler.

Generally speaking, race engines are not built the same as road engines from the factory. Bearing clearances are greater, and the expectations are different. Life might be 10 hours between rebuild and the oil could be changed several times in that interval. Different use, different expectations and different oil.

Factory engines now are all about meeting emissions and fuel economy objectives, with reasonable durability. Race engines can be built a lot more "loose" since emissions are not a primary goal. They are all one offs, rather than assembly line built too. Factory tolerances are excellent these days, that's harder to do in a non production, non CNC environment. Horses for courses....
