XJ6 rear suspension - wheeler dealer
#2
Tke Steve,
Of course, the usual Wheeler Dealer errors, inconistencies and b******t (a 3.6 litre Series 2? No such thing! And the video with voiceover of Series 2 description? All the video was of Series 3 models!)
Anyway, this is one of their slightly better, awful shows. At least it has a higher degree of technical work than some episodes. Having said that, it looks like they did their typical superficial fix of just one item (the brake calipers) rather than a thororugh refurb of all the cage and the suspension.
Although a bit simplistic and missing quite a few steps, I think it does helps to show how easy is a rear cage drop, even without specialist tools. Obviously a 2-post or 4-post lift is much easier, but as many forum members have done and reported recently, if you can just lift up the rear end, it's quite feasible to drop the cage with just very basic spanners, sockets and a couple of jacks. or a trolley.
Cheers
Paul

The superficial coveeage of the work on the XJ6 shown on this episode of Wheeler Dealers makes me appreciate Edd China's new show on YouTube that much more. He even had his old sidekick Paul on his latest episode. If you haven't seen it, check out "Edd China's Workshop Diaries" on YouTube.
