Hi all,
I have an XKR 2006 and an XJR-S 1992. I have only clocked up 5 000km on the XKR and 400km on the XJR-S this season. The Jaguar dealer/service centre has advised that I change the oil and filter every year regardless of milage.
Any thoughts on this recommendation?
Thanks,
Mark.

I would change the oil and filter on the XKR 2006 and leave the other one alone until the end of next season. I know many guys at the https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forum that would tell you to go 2-3 years before changing the XJR-S. If only 1K miles per year, then change every other season. You can always change the oil(I would not) but keep the filter until 5K miles. Good quality oil filters today can go at least 8K miles and other synthetic fiber filters go 15K miles.

I've only put 500 km on my XJ-S since the oil change in 2014. I won't be using the oil when she fire up soon again. A fresh batch (complete swap).
I too change my oil every 12 months or distance driven, what ever come first. Even when some experts say it can stay on longer, it is my engine and the additived do break up over time.
The XJ-S doesn't get the most expensive oil anyway. I use a 20w50 mineral oil... The cat has always had it...
