I believe this may have been mentioned before by others but I will ad my two penneth as it may A. Help someone and B. Save someone some time and money. Please bear in mind I am uk based. In the course of restoring/ recommissioning my car I have renewed the fuel lines from the tank to the rail. After a lot of messing on my facelift car I discovered my local hydraulic hose shop. He has renewed the 3 hoses/ pipes on each side of the car for me. The flexi from the tank to the pipe that runs under the car , the under car steel pipe and the flexi from this pipe. The under car pipe has every bend duplicated and all hoses have been crimped and fittings replaced . Everything is of a correct spec. They charged me £55 per side which I Think was a gift especially when you see how well made they are. I'm obviously chuffed and am sharing this in the hope someone else may benefit like I have with the help I've received on this forum. Cheers lads
Brilliant find Brinny.
A tip if your car is a pre-facelift. The high pressure line exits the boot at the RHS front corner. Then a short piece of steel tube goes up the rear of the wheelarch/chassis before it goes into a short flexible that allows the line to turn over the top of the axle. It is worth waxing this piece and then splitting a piece of rubber fuel hose and cable tieing it over this short solid piece between the boot exit and the flexible. This protects the pipe from stone damage from the wheels and general shot-blasting it otherwise gets.
