Hey everyone, im new to this forum, and decided that its about time to start to restore my 1 owner 1990 xjs. I am thinking of doing a bit of customization to it. Im not planning to go the all original route, so many people here may not like it.
What im curious about is, is there a place to find information on the aftermarket availability of parts for these cars? Specifically, updating the suspension. Are there coilovers that bolt in? Any air-ride companies make products for it?
Thanks for any help.
BTW, my current car is an all original E39 M5 that is a blast.

check the driven mans susepnsion upgrades. the total upgrade for bilsteins, GT springs, fron and rear upgraded swaybars and links will run you about $2,000 as a kit. not a great deal, but less than most expect.
of course you can buy these components seperately and you will find that the parts run about the same as most any other vehicle.
also they have 5 and 6 speed kits that are rediculously expensive. no chance of buying those seperately.

There are a number of companies that have upgraded components for the XJS, M has already mentioned The Driven Man, there is AJ6 Engineering in the UK and Mike Roddy in Australia.
Suspension upgrades can be a bit on the pricy side because it has 6 shocks and springs. The rear already has coilovers, if you have Bilstein these can be rebuilt and have adjusters added for ride height.
You need to be a little more specific about what mods you are planning so we can point you in the right direction. Also is your car a 6 or V12?
