Is it just some body mods or does it have a proper Lister engine modification?
Paul
Just a note, from what I've gathered from those who've dealt with the "Lister" engine modifications - especially the higher horsepower ones, a lot were done... poorly... maybe more so in later years too after the partnership/hands changed. Both in attention to internal detail and in fueling. A lot more time was put in to the TWR engine development. Oddly I'm not sure a quality difference would relate to a difference in desirability or price. Apparently most of the really pumped 7.0L Listers needed a later engine going through, and often work done to make the main caps stronger or a replacement of them along with better more exacting fueling. (Again from what I gather from folks who supply racing bits for these engines and cars.)

I think it is just body and trim mods. I sent the serial # to Lister and they said that it wasn't in their inventory of modified engines. What I think is unique about it are all the window etched glass with Lister. Haven't seen that on any other yet.
Everyone might find this fun, I have come upon these recently, I think I have a genuine Lister kit, with docs. And a few other XJS kits plus a lister or TWR for the series 3, found in a barn a few months ago.
Hi Shawn, what a treasure hunt you were on. Can you email pictures of there Lister brochures? Mbrouillette@uihna.com. Better yet? Would you be interested in selling the brochures? Thanks for your consideration.
1987 Lister Jaguar XJ-SC US Specifications 5 spd V12
Recently purchased my 1987 US Spec Lister-Jaguar XJ-SC. The only option this one didn't have was the factory rear hard-top. I've fixed that by buying one in Texas and shipping to North Carolina. Love the look of my XJ-SC, and YES, mine does have the 5 Spd Getrag manual transmission with the V12.
Hello 2020mike,
Your car is incredible, what a great catch. What's the first impression of the manual gearbox, I've never tried an XJS V12 with it. Is it the Lister exhaust system? Which part was installed? Could you send me a short video of driving with the manual gearbox, I'm considering a conversion.
Kind regards
Laurent
Hi Laurant and thank you. I love it too.
I've never driven any Jaguar before mine, so I haven't been able to compare yet. I haven't owned a manual car since 1990 but the manual in the Jaguar does not disappoint. I confess, the manual transmission just adds to the experience ownership. I feel like I am truly driving a classic sports car. My car was converted when new with all the Lister upgrades.
I'm heading out of town this week but if you email me, I'll send you a lot of information and articles that may help you decide. my email is mbrouillette@uihna.com
