XJS on current (presumably rerun) Wheeler Dealer
Flipping channels at 6am EST, lo and behold the abrasive short plump guy on Wheeler Dealer is looking at XJS, "so we can make a few quid" (He apparently never adds to the equation the $20,000 of labor provided by his expert repair guy working three weeks 12 hour days on the car...)
Taping show. I'm an XKR (x100) owner, but nice to see the XJS featured.

My favorite show. Edd is my hero. Usually, they have some stock, crappy music on that show. But I noticed on the XJS episode they have a tune called 'No cars go' by one of my favorite bands Arcade Fire.
I think that the show is more about giving old modern classics a new lease on life, as opposed to "making a few quid" as annoying Mike Brewer likes to say. I wish Edd was my neighbor. We would be BFFs :-)

Absolutely no difference ronbros, quid is just slang for a pound, thats all.
As far as not always making much money on their projects?
I've seen some where they've made from £2k to even £4k / £5k profit, which isn't too bad, wouldn't mind some of that....lol
The general idea though, is about the tv programme itself, about general / basic car maintenance and keeping some of the older cars on the road for another few years.
Whether they make some or any profit at certain times can be a moot point, but it is nice when they make a few £££ for their efforts.

Just watched the xjs episode on youtube. It was definitely good for a few laughs. Actually it was eerily similar to my own xjs episode. Their headliner cost $400, mine was $59 for material and glue. As for the ski-slope, I used black vinyl which I like better than the wood veneer. I had the vinyl kicking around the garage (leftover from another project) so cost was 0$.
Mike paid 1000 quid. I paid $1700 cdn. (pretty close). Although mine is a V12 and the body is in a LOT better shape.
This is one of my favorite shows and I had no idea this episode existed until I saw this thread. Thanks for the heads up David i.
