OB,

Another thought:

I'm not sure if those shafts are metric or imperial. (That "16mm" is very close to 5/8"). So, depending on the space that you have and how it might affect the mount of the motor to the pump, could you perhaps just buy a shaft adapter to step the diameter down from 20mm (or imperial equivalent) to 16mm (5/8"?). You can also get them with a keyway already cut.

It's fairly easy to find companies selling these type of clamp-on step-down shaft couplings. If you just google phrases like "step-down shaft coupling" you'll probably find some UK mail order companies.

As I said, just a thought as to another option.

Hi Paul

That's a very interesting idea although I've never heard of a Step down shaft adaptor and so I'll have a look around and see what I can find.

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a machine shop round my way prepared to tackle a little job like boring out a coupling.
