Just got off the phone! IT PASSED FLYING COLOURS!

Emissions was a bit of a close shave, almost didn't pass but its JUST under the CO2 limit. So it now has an MOT, well will when I pay! Then Tax, then petrol, THEN DRIVE!

On the way home I'll take some pictures! So look for the pics uploaded onto this thread in about 30 mins!

When you said you would post some pics, you weren't kidding. Excellent! It's exciting to know you are so excited. Kind of infectious.

Haha no I wasn't kidding! I am really happy to own a Jaguar. Especially the iconic (& somewhat controversial) XJ-S!

Reminds me! I must go and get some fuel now! I forgot yesterday. How many miles should I get out of a full tank ? And am I right in saying the tanks 80L ?

I'll also give it a LONG run (probably a few hundred miles) then test the MPG, see how many she's getting! And of course do a 0-60 to see if it's still doing it in 7.8 seconds like it did when new! With 238BHP under that hood there shouldn't be much problem though

Nice one. I wouldn't bother about mpg for the time being. You are going to be using the car at every opportunity you can get and that will affect mpg.

When you drive it gently and longer, you will be pleasantly surprised and if that Granada is a 2.9 you will be amazed! LOL

Cheers,

Congratulations. That's an excellent low miles car. It's a funny thing for me to look at the engine compartment with brake booster on the right side. Is it a 94? It's a great color and ~clean~. That's a good friend indeed.

It's a '91, and the Scorpio is a 2.0 Ghia auto. It got 38MPG in my most recient MPG test. That was driving like a 99 year old though.

And I'm not going to use the car all the time. I have my diesel Volvo 440 for that!

Just till my super economical 1994 Peugeot 405 1.9TD is restored to working condition. It gets over 50MPG! Then I'll sell the Volvo. I went to see a 1993 Jag Daimler a week ago (didn't and won't buy) and it said on the trip-computer average MPG was 12.3!!!! And it had the 4.0 Flat-6. So thats why I'm worrying about my XJS . It's got the Flat-6 too!
