XJS in salvage yard - anyone need parts?
Hey guys,
I'm a bit of a lurker, but have family that are into Jags so I always keep an eye out for interesting finds. A yard local to me just took in a red V12 coupe with a few parts I don't often see. To start:
-Cibie European headlights (glass lenses)
-OEM Jaguar mudflaps
-Nardi gold-plated steering wheel
-Rear spoiler - looks like a Lister spoiler? (Cut-out for antenna)
Purely out of recognizing rare bits when I see them, I grabbed the lights and mudflaps. I have a good relationship with this yard and can remove the parts with ease. I might keep the wheel for myself, as I've got a vintage BMW 2002 it'd look perfect in. The spoiler is still with the vehicle as of yesterday and the red paint is in nice shape.
It likely had some killer wheels on it at one point - the ARE center caps are all that remains, though.
Thanks,
Jeff

As I think about it, I might also be interested int he following if the price is right and they are in decent shape: The wood veneer on the center console, the power antenna, the shift knob, lighting assembly for the rear license plate, and the "V12" emblem on the front center of the grill. Thanks for considering. Steven

Hey guys -
Glad the interest is there. I managed to find a few pics of the car on the salvage auction site it was on before it ended up in the yard. They are below; the car as it stands now is the final photo. The interior is pretty much a lost cause; however, having inspected the spoiler a few times now, it is in very nice shape. That is just dirt you see in the photo.
Things that are no longer there / not salvageable: rear badges, front emblem / hood ornament, wheels, steering wheel. As mentioned, I have the euro lights and mudflaps in my possession. As you can also see, the shift knob was gone before it even got to the yard and the center console is not wood veneer. One of the tail lights is also smashed and the rear exhaust has been cut up.

Not trying to hijack the thread but what is the paint code on your car.

Thanks swayne, frankly not sure. I just bought it 2 weeks ago (first Jag) and it is in the shop getting some restoration done before I start cruising. I can swing by the shop tomorrow and check. How do I know what color code it is? Seems like a good thing to know. Thanks, Steven
I am going to pass on the spoiler so maybe you will get a chance at it yet.

I need the brake pedal housing and the brake booster master cylinder with the abs pump. Basically the entire braking system or whatever parts I can get. Someone mentioned just the pedal. Maybe I can give them my pedal since they do not need the housing? ??? I will give my pedal out free if I can get the older style.

My thoughts exactly. It was a donation car, too, to a charity for the blind. Then it went to the salvage auction.
Guys, my one caveat is I am literally going on my lunch hour to grab items, so the easier "pulls" will be the first ones I get to. Things like the brake system and pedal assembly will have to wait until the weekend.
