99% of the time it's Mark Knopfler, no matter if I'm driving or working on my car in the shop. Maybe a little more of an obscure pick but I can't turn it off. From the early Dire Straits to modern Knopfler. Fantastic music.

Well guys I've read through the posts and agree with a lot of them and I've got a few to add. "I Can't Drive 55" (Best ever) "Friendly Stranger in the Black Sedan" I know my XJS is a coupe, but it is Black! "Born to be wild" "Danger Zone" "Hot Rod Lincoln" good fit since the 460 going in my XJS, came out of a Lincoln. "Life is a Highway" and "Riding with Private Malone". Cause I was hit head on a couple years ago and an off duty EMT stayed with me, she told me she had lost my heartbeat, and had to do CPR on me, while I was still in the truck. If it hadn't been for her, I probably wouldn't be here writing this. The strange thing is. No one knows who she was, and I'am associated, and friends with all the local Firemen, Police, and Emt's and no one knows her??? God sent me an Angel! and I don't even know her name. Thank You Lord. 89 Jaco, you mention "Hot Rod Lincoln" back then late 40/early 50s, i had a 1937 Lincoln V12 coupe, and got a speeding ticket ,my father was pissed, said you gotta stop driving that hot rod lincoln!!
well i sold it to a for $175. dollars, yeah! i know wish i had it today.
before i sold it, was out one night and out run a cop cruiser, left him in the dust, course they had 1948 Chevy cars ,6 cylinder 90 hp, OH well life goes on!

Depends on how she's running. When she's running sweetly, as she's been doing these days mostly, then perhaps Rachmaninov's sublime Ave Maria (partially as she's Lady Mary, after all....)
After the first few times she started smoking from the engine, I would probably have gone with Dies Irae from the Requiem Mass (Verdi's, of course). "Day of anger, day of mourning, when to ashes all is burning...."

though on my car play list is War Low rider... Sade... (jazz) and Rolling stones... and During Oct the cranberries Zombie.. and Lee Gander "Are you a Zombie?"
I stay away from the High brow stuff I have to sing as I want to just relax!
and Christmas music right now...
so theme song for the car would be White Car and then low rider!
Yes, "White Car" because my XJS is top down and White...

There really was a "Hot Rod Lincoln" as the song goes. A cut down Lincoln V12 chassis
of early 40's vintage. Sans Lincoln body, Circa 1930 "A" Ford coupe body nicely implanted. Looked good and ran like stink.
Google up Chip Foose's Lincoln V12 coupe. Bartered to Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage for an original creation by Chip's dad...

Yeah, coulda, woulda shoulda!!!!
Circa 1949 or so, aunt and uncle had a friend. She an old maid and RN. Why? Nicxe lady, not that bad looking either.
She had a 41 Zephyr for door??? Henry messing with hydraulic valves in that car.
They rattled something fierce. Unc a very handy guy with tools agreed to try to quiet it. Managed, sorta...
Next thing, I knew it was racing dirt track.... Not by her, but, by the younger brother of a flat track bike racer...
Did not last long there, why??? I've no idea. It came to rest in a small junk yard.
I got some brake parts from it. 12" Bendix fit Fords and were more advanced. I recall it had the very desireable Columbia two speed rear axle...
Shoudive gone for that....
