Factory Sirius Radio Install

When I got my XK Coupe two things were missing. USB audio and Sirius radio. The ACM took care of the first and was very straightforward to install. The factory Sirius install was a little more difficult but only because there was no readily available documentation on what parts to get and what else was involved. As it turns out factory SDARS installation is pretty straightforward as well. The attached document gives factory part numbers and the basic outline of what to do. The outline assumes a familiarity with removing interior trim and only gets specific in a few areas I had to figure out that were not straightforward. Although I purchased all but the large harness new at the dealer all of the parts can be found on eBay or at breaker yards. I got the used harness from a great outfit in California called "Jaguar & Porsche Parts" in Rancho Cordova, CA. The SDARS module came up on eBay 2 weeks after I'd purchased the new one. If I knew then what I know now I'd have been patient collecting all the parts and saved some money. The other critical piece of information for this install is what the dealer will be required to do for programming. The dealer will need to get an engineering mode access code to change two vehicle parameters before the SDARS can be activated. The system will stay greyed out until these two parameters are changed. The dealer used my mom's 07 that had Sirius installed from the factory to check for differences in the parameters from her car to mine. I really think this install can be just as easy and done for about the same amount of money (using used parts) as the ACM kit. Hopefully my project can help someone else now.
