Need opinion on 2007 XK
I am looking to buy this Jaguar XK (see link below). Can anyone suggest if I should be wary about anything?

This is would be my first Jaguar, in fact my first car. So I want to know about the pros and cons before I drop the cash. I love the brand, but have the overcome their quality and reliability issues that clouted their past reputation?
Is there anything faulty with the 2007 XK ?
Please let me know. Any input would be much appreciated.

IMHO, if you buy an XK, you'll always regret not buying an XKR!
Each model year after 2007 offered significant improvements, so do your own research of each model year and make sure that the car you're considering has all of the options you want. For example, iPod integration became standard with 2009 models.

Before buying ANY Jag, spend a few bucks and have a Jaguar dealer perform a complete inspection with a written report, and take the car to a reputable body shop to inspect it for damage. Get it in writing that there has been no body/paint repairs. You can't rely on CarFax.
You are also much better off buying a car with a CPO warranty, or remaining factory warranty. Jaguar parts and labor are expensive. In the 12 months that I have owned my XKR, I've had the following done under warranty: replace one catalytic converter; replace fuel cap; replace glove box door; adjust passenger side window; plus at my expense I replaced the front brake pads at 30K miles.

Alcon brakes were one of the few options available on the 2009 Portfolio model. List price was $3,000. They include 400mm (15.75") front discs with 6-piston calipers and 350mm (13.78") rear discs with 4-piston calipers. One problem: the OEM compact spare does not fit over the calipers, so instead of a spare you get a 12v inflator with fix-a-flat goop. I keep a bible in the trunk and pray I never get a flat!
Here's a close-up of my front brakes - note the crescent-shaped vents in the rotor - not your usual drilled holes. The front caliper is cast with the raised R logo and printed with the words 6 piston:
These rotors are expensive, so replace the pads early - before the rotors get scored - so you can reuse the rotors without getting them turned, which is what I did at 30,000 miles. No problems by not getting the rotors turned.

1 2381 BRAKE CLEAN KIT $18.75
Labor $115.00
Total $503.11
Sure, you probably can find aftermarket pads for less as well as labor, but I prefer to have brakes done by the dealer based on my past experiences with noisy non-OEM brake pads. Dealer does it right the first time; time is money and I don't want the aggravation to bring it back to get it corrected. The additional cost is worth it to me. Note that I didn't have to replace or turn the rotors; no pulling, no noise, no problems. Saved big bucks by not having to replace the rotors.

I'd only suggest making sure you get the Alpine (or whatever premium sound) it offers. The stock system is not enough.
When an XK gets to those high miles usually the battery has been replaced, and that takes care of alot of the electrical problems (all of them, in my case)
Final (and most important) suggestion is to look at the company you are buying from, the "ENHENCED EXAHUST SYSTEM!!" (inability to spell enhanced) doesn't really inspire confidence with me.'
Also the '07 model has a really annoying power antenna. Just a heads up if you don't like that.
